With Document, War on Want seeks to combine its success in working with students and graduates and the power of photography to communicate the issue of poverty to a wide range of audiences.

Since its founding in 1951, War on Want has been at the forefront of the fight against global poverty. War on Want supports projects around the world that help people to a better life and campaigns in the UK and Europe for fairer economic structures and more just development policies.

War on Want conducts hard-hitting and outspoken campaigns to bring about real change whilst providing support to organisations and movements in Asia, Latin America, Middle East and Africa. In a recent Third Sector Magazine poll of charity chief executives, War on Want was voted fifth most admired charity in the UK.

At the same time, War on Want has extended its work with students and universities, focusing on political activism through events and actions with the result that young people and students are War on Want’s fastest growing group of supporters.
